In this episode of How I Met Your Monster, we dive into The Company of Wolves (1984) — Neil Jordan’s surreal fairy-tale horror film that blends werewolf folklore, dream logic, and dark fantasy. We break down the film’s symbolism, explore its feminist themes, and debate whether this cult classic is brilliant or completely unhinged. From creepy transformations to storybook nightmares, this episode explores why The Company of Wolves still stands out among folk horror and werewolf movies.
In this episode of How I Met Your Monster, we kick off our Scary Tales triple feature by diving into Neil Jordan’s 1984 horror film The Company of Wolves. Inspired by Angela Carter’s reimagining of Little Red Riding Hood, this surreal fairy-tale nightmare blends werewolves, dream logic, and body-horror transformations into one of the strangest films of the decade.
We break down the film’s seven monster reveals, unsettling werewolf transformation effects, and its controversial themes around puberty, repression, folklore, and gender roles. From wolves peeling out of human skin to dream-within-a-dream storytelling, The Company of Wolves challenges traditional fairy tales and refuses simple interpretations.
Along the way, we connect the film to classic werewolf lore, fairy-tale history (Charles Perrault), and other surreal horror films that prioritize vibes over clarity. Is The Company of Wolves a feminist fairy tale? A disturbing coming-of-age story? Or just an aggressively weird werewolf movie? We don’t fully agree—and that’s the point.
00;00;00;06 - 00;00;25;16

Oh, I just said fairy tales. And I like tales. Oh, I passed the test. What a twist.
00;01;14;15 - 00;01;38;18
If you're wondering how we got to fairy, if you're wondering how we got to scary tales from fairy tales. Well, I'm. I feel like just something to do. If I had to guess. There's something to do with the fact that we do a horror movie podcast. And fear rhymes with scare. Scare. Yeah. And these, these next three movies that we're doing are very scary.
00;01;38;25 - 00;02;01;15
Oh, almost. I, we, we've so we've had a few days where it's like, we don't do this because it's almost too scary. Yeah. Like, let's talk about this especially. Yeah. This one. Yeah. Yeah. Which is why we had to put Pan's Labyrinth there on the end. Yeah. Yeah. We're just too scary. Our next story will feature is called Gentle and Soft.
00;02;01;18 - 00;02;24;10
Stories. And it's just movies that are like. Yeah, because I love know. Yeah, exactly. In his case, his choice. I go to toy all these twists. Another twist. Yeah. 2026 is so much yeah. Just subverting expectations, pulling the rug out or pulling the rug out. This is our first this is our first movie of 2026.
00;02;24;10 - 00;02;47;21
Only 26. The company of. Howdy. Yeah. And it's off to a great start. Yeah, we we wanted to open up the year with clarity and just kind of getting to the point and, leaving, you know, a lot of room for. You don't even need interpretation because there's nothing to interpret. It's just, you know, face value. It's it's all right there on the surface.
00;02;47;26 - 00;03;11;17
Yeah. Very true. So this this movie really represents what the rest of the year of the does. Very straightforward to the point. No heavy lifting. Hey hey, hey. Nothing in this world is cheap. You know, you want to talk about monsters. You got to pay the fee. You want to meet some creepy wolves? You got a story from the past, you know? That's right. It's. That's what the payment is. It's. It's a couple bucks. It's a couple things, baby boy. So you gotta pay the troll toll if you go to the troll toll to get in exactly where the where the where the where the goblins under the bridge.
00;03;53;28 - 00;04;09;18
And what is it? The something with the goat. What is. How does it go? You just said it. I don't know, you get it, you pay it, you get it. If you don't pay, you don't got it. And if you get it, it's good and you'll enjoy it. And it's a great year.
00;04;09;21 - 00;04;34;23
Okay. Yeah. Guys, the company of wolves. Have you guys seen this before? No, I've never even heard of it before. Never. Snow. I feel like the shot of him with the mouth coming out of the mouth was like. I feel like it's so when I. Zack had said like, oh, I'm between this movie and this movie, and I had never heard of this, so I googled it just for a quick little thing.
00;04;34;23 - 00;04;55;03
And the picture that I saw that made me say, oh, Company of Wolves was all of them, all of the wolves sitting at the dinner table in the Victorian scene, I, I was like, yeah, I want to watch that movie. Okay. So yeah, that scene kind of it didn't piss me off. I thought it was very cool. I wanted it to go farther.
00;04;55;06 - 00;05;13;14
Yeah, like they were doing their transformations and it was so cool because it was like weird. And you got like the one lady who, like, turned into the dog and she was still in your turkey leg and oh my God, that is strange. But then it just like stopped and they were just like all dogs. I wanted it to be like, I wanted it to push it even further because I was enjoying it so much.
00;05;13;16 - 00;05;37;07
I think that they probably were just like, we only have time and we only have the budget for one big reveal. So they used it on dude. Earlier in the movie. I think it was how I thought it came from more of like a thematic like story, like motivation, because the whole idea and I don't know, I feel like this is one of those movies where everyone's gonna have a different read on it.
00;05;37;09 - 00;06;04;16
But like the whole movie, like if you wanted to break it down and distill the themes into one, like solid, like understandable way, it's it's not just about like, oh, we're telling the story about little Red Riding Hood, which itself is kind of like a cautionary tale where it's like pretty black and white, like girls are, you know, can't take care of themselves and men are evil.
00;06;04;16 - 00;06;41;12
And if a girl doesn't do what she's told, she's going to pay the consequences unless a man comes and rescues her. Whereas I feel like this movie is constantly like contradicting itself, you know, and it's talking less about it's kind of like taking the core themes that are in the story and then kind of like slip in that, kind of like ripping them apart, you know, so you end up getting more like hypocrisy and you get more repression and you get more denial and the way that societal norms kind of, I don't know, paint people in black and white ways.
00;06;41;12 - 00;07;02;21
So to have the wolves to have them turn into wolves is like in, I don't know, like in the perspective of the character who I don't know, it's so hard to break textures and really turn them into. Yeah, but she kind of turns them into wolves. They don't become like monsters. They kind of there is like an innocence to them because they're not just evil.
00;07;02;21 - 00;07;29;04
There's more ties, more track. Yeah, I don't know, man. But like, even at the end, she thought it was about really disgusting men. Not totally, 100%, but the fact that Rosalie is like, it's I don't know. I also read as like this story about like someone like becoming like a girl, becoming a woman and like, what it means to face a world where you will confront men and, and a lot of them are disgusting.
00;07;29;07 - 00;07;46;10
But there is like a she has this like as by the end she kind of like embraces it. And it's like, will you be because she becomes a wolf? And yeah, she doesn't kill the wolf. She's like, I get it, you know, like, exactly. Because it is just like like grandma told me it's evil, but you're not evil.
00;07;46;10 - 00;08;05;10
You're just, I don't know, like the whole like, every time, I don't know, I just. God, there's so much to unpack. And we're, like, diving right in my brain is. No, I totally I'm right there with you because it is like, oh, no, I think that I had a big problem with it. I could not get past the fact that this girl was 12.
00;08;05;12 - 00;08;23;00
So I don't think I saw anything beyond how disgusting most of it was to me. Yeah. No. And I think, to be honest, the 100% it is disgusting and I, I that's what I was thinking. But you're saying like a girl becoming a woman, she's fucking 12. No, but it's like the journey of like a huge for sure.
00;08;23;00 - 00;08;41;10
And but she was still only 12, I don't know. And I it's the way that we even I don't know it's, it's maybe it would make more sense. Yeah. If they just age the actress up so that it wasn't immediately like. But I mean like, oh you gross not trying to sound whatever. But like that is when puberty happens.
00;08;41;16 - 00;09;00;05
Yeah, sure. 13 years old, but you're still not a woman when you're 13 or 14 or. No, no, I agree, but like, I mean, but she's contending. She's beginning. She's entering that path. Oh, strength in the path. She's entering the path. Like contending with those feelings. Like all she knew up until this point is what she's been told.
00;09;00;05 - 00;09;18;04
You know, like what her village tells her, what her grandmother warns her about. It's like this is all bad, when in reality it's not until she goes off on her own, you know, quote unquote. Like growing up, beginning her journey of growing up. Does she see like, oh, there's a little bit more nuance here. It's not that simple.
00;09;18;12 - 00;09;40;01
It's not just about monsters and innocence. It's there's complexities. And it's like I read it as like, this is her journey, like her literal, like the fact that she's dreaming about it, too. It's like it's in her subconscious. It's like it's you can't escape it. It's everywhere. Yeah. And it's her kind of contending with this. What this change will be in her life, which I.
00;09;40;01 - 00;10;15;27
So it's like, no. Yeah. Well, the whole fact, the fact that they set it in the modern time and then like, went back, you know, she's like dreaming. Yeah. To me like the, the, the present time modern time setting just like didn't matter. Yeah I think if you had to break it down, like maybe it is just seeing her as a modern person digesting this change through a fairy tale, like through like it's because, like, fairy tale.
00;10;15;29 - 00;10;42;08
That's just how she's, like, processing it. Yeah, that's what that was kind of trying to show. That's what I think. Yeah. So it's not to say like the the men aren't monsters, but there's, there's more to it and just the way that there's more to her. And like, I mean, there's even that scene later when the boy who likes her takes her out and we immediately are like, kind of have been conditioned up to this point to be like, oh, he's going to be a real he's going to do something bad.
00;10;42;11 - 00;11;02;17
And what he really ends up doing is just, he's just negligent. So and then when he comes back and he tells them like hey Rosalie's gone. They immediately like the mob mentality comes out. He's like shit fuck you fucking little girl. I mean she's stupid too. She doesn't listen, but I also, you know, she was dreaming, I was dreaming, I think I fell asleep like four times during this movie.
00;11;02;20 - 00;11;21;21
And so, you transfer most of your notes, which is your dream interpretation. So I didn't have a good, Okay. I just feel like a lot is going to be. Is like, oh, I don't ever have much to say anyway. No, that's okay. I just know I don't. You guys have all this fucking. Oh, it's her journey, and I'm like, no, it's fucking gross.
00;11;21;28 - 00;11;49;16
But that's. Yeah. Just in my opinion, I don't know if it's right. It's just Annie. Oh, I mean, it is, it is. I saw an interview with director Neil Jordan and, the writer, what was her name? Angela. Angela Carter. There was, like, two separate interviews, but they were, talking about, like. It is like her journey through puberty and becoming a, you know, quote unquote woman.
00;11;49;19 - 00;12;13;23
Well, it's not like the the whole movie's literally. I mean, I actually love that we're starting a fairy tale, triple feature with this because it leans so heavily on the idea of story and the way that, like, these characters specifically, Rosalie, is told stories. It's not about, like, hey, this happened to me. It's like, no, there's actually this legend.
00;12;13;25 - 00;12;31;25
So it's like everyone's kind of just I know you're kind of like set up for failure. Like, I feel like I'm coming to. I don't want this to read. Like I'm just coming on the side of the men in this because the men are like, gross. But my, my, my, my. It wasn't surprising. He likes me. Like coming on the moon today.
00;12;31;27 - 00;12;55;17
No, but like the idea of like, oh, all men are monsters. Therefore they will become monsters. All girls are weak and innocent. Therefore they will be weak and innocent. And Rosalie kind of represents this, like shift like, well, I'll do it myself. Like how many times I say don't stray from the path? Like, why? Like what does that mean?
00;12;55;17 - 00;13;13;24
Like, why are you why is this all war? And yet they're also willing to just throw her onto the path and trust that she won't stray from the path? Oh, yeah. That's it's kind of like, again, it's just setting people up for failure instead of just acknowledging the fact that this is all part of the experience, you will grow, you will change.
00;13;13;24 - 00;13;30;15
There will be some scary parts of it, the parts that you don't like, the parts that you love. There'll be parts that are new, the parts that disappear. And that's okay. And it's okay to be afraid of it too. Like she ends up talking with the wolf at the end, like they fight a little bit. She resists, but at the end of the day, she's like, wait, why?
00;13;30;16 - 00;13;51;23
Like, no. Well, you know where they got the idea that all men are disgusting and will turn into wolves? You know where they got that idea from? Where Larry fucking Talbott. Oh, yeah. I feel like there's something we have to really pick apart that I haven't really thought about is the, I guess, like, the man is a beast, like a wolf kind of thing.
00;13;51;23 - 00;14;13;19
I guess it is more on the nose and maybe I'm overthinking it, but. Yeah. That's funny. Yeah. And they all work, and they work in a pack. Like men are so gross. Look at them just. I mean, it's like a bunch of fucking dudes going out. Unlike a bunch of, like, young twentysomething dudes. Okay. Yeah.
00;14;13;21 - 00;14;45;24
But they're fucking. Isn't that what they call themselves in The Hangover? Yeah, well, that's like that's what Zac Efron tells them. Yeah, he was he was doing it. He was listening to our podcast. He was like, we are a wolf pack. We're a bunch of monsters. I yeah, I, you know, going back just, you know, a few minutes ago when we were talking about, like, if we had seen this before the, the, the, the image of the the the wolf coming out of the.
00;14;46;01 - 00;15;10;16
Oh, yeah. Mouth that always scared the shit out of me in the video store when I was a kid. And I love it. The effects in this in the movie, like, God, there was, you know, there's like a level to them that were. They're just not quite. I don't know what I mean. I don't say up to par, but like, you know, Larry Talbot Snow, Larry Talbot, but.
00;15;10;18 - 00;15;45;06
Well, there were definitely nods to that during the Victorian scene. They did the same kind of stuff with the hands in The Father did. Oh yeah. Yeah, that's when they did. The characters very similar. Seriously, though, in The Helpless Woman as well. But she did have that's. Oh, okay. There's so much to break down. Yeah. Because I wanted to go into, like, just the, the, the there's not a ton of transformations in this movie, but the ones that they have are they're all different and they feel very innovative.
00;15;45;08 - 00;16;09;03
And they, I feel like they, they played different roles for what the like what their like what the goal is for the transformation. Like is it to scare. Is it to reveal is to show Harnish okay. So yeah. So we get into it. Oh I think so. Get me okay. Let's get into it then. Let's start breaking down the company of wolves.
00;16;09;06 - 00;16;45;29
So and that the company of some friends and the company of some friends in a brand new in a brand new new year, in a brand new Larry Talbot, Larry Lowe. Larry, Larry's our special guest, by the way, and Casey is just been glaring at him. I know, but, you know, it's funny. So I looked up the writers of this movie, and on IMDb it says Neil Jordan, Angela Carter and Charles Perrault, Petra Ulti Dick, and this man and I clicked on them.
00;16;45;29 - 00;17;05;19
I'm like, oh, let's see what he's done. And I clicked on him and I said, I can't believe I've been this, the picture that pops up on IMDb, like, it shows up and it's like this, like Victorian painting of like, this old, really like a Renaissance painting or something. I'm like.
00;17;05;22 - 00;17;30;09
Why does this guy have a picture of him? Like, why is his picture like this old painting? And it's he's, he's like the guy from the 1600s. Yeah, yeah. Wow. He's such a vibe. I was like, dude, why are you using this picture? That's so funny, though, But he wrote things like Cinderella, little Red Riding Hood, like written books.
00;17;30;12 - 00;17;34;18
Sleeping beauty.
00;17;34;20 - 00;17;55;21
And I was like, oh my God, that's so. Oh, you know, a lot of helpless women in those, stories. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I don't know the story of Puss in Boots, like. I mean, did you say no Christian boots? Yeah. Oh, yeah. I didn't hear that. I read Cinderella and, sleeping Beauty, Cinderella. Little Red Riding Hood, Puss in Boots, sleeping beauty.
00;17;55;29 - 00;18;14;23
Yeah. I don't know about Puss in Boots, but the rest are all hopeless. Woman, which was a big theme for fairy tales in general. Yeah, to be sure. Real, you know. Yeah. And I do feel like in the modern age, we have been there have been a lot of authors and artists who have been trying to subvert, oh, the fairy tale, like the whole idea of the helpless woman.
00;18;14;23 - 00;18;37;11
And this is, I don't know what was what started that, but I think, yeah, yeah, I'm going to write about helpless wolves. I think that's a weird. It's a weird take. They're all victims. The world's coming for them. Wolves deserve that. Okay, let's get.
00;18;37;13 - 00;18;58;08
There's got to be a saying there. Fucking make wolves great. Oh, God. I, I can't I want the moon anymore. What the hell? Just trying to eat girls on paths in the woods. Leave me alone.
00;18;58;11 - 00;19;03;17
My. No. Right.
00;19;03;19 - 00;19;27;19
Oh, there's going to move on from that. Okay, well, let's head to a, Where do we want to start? In the in the mansion. We could also start in bed in the modern time. Yeah, yeah, a certain bed. It's a dream. Start in bed. We'll take some Ambien. We'll go to sleep. Well, we'll be like, oh, guys, we did Dream Warriors recently while Dream Warrior.
00;19;27;19 - 00;19;54;28
Our way into the story. That's right. All right. We also have we have to have to have like, specialized, abilities. So in the first world in this podcast gets the avatar in the virtual world, we all have that dream warrior powers. My fingers are going to be a little longer because my name is. I've been accused of having kind of, like, stubby fingers, so my hair gets me just a little longer than that's there,
00;19;55;00 - 00;20;03;02
Yeah. I thought it was so you could, like, type from further away.
00;20;03;05 - 00;20;15;08
That's immediately what I thought of. I was like, oh, he can put his keyboard farther away. I'm in the living room watching a movie, or I'm typing in the in the office and.
00;20;15;11 - 00;20;32;15
But the like that doesn't come from your arms. It comes with your fingers. They're like, curl around your. My hands are firmly set at my on my lap. But my fingers have made their way to the office.
00;20;32;18 - 00;20;51;21
Fraser Sterling, my style. All right. And they have two fingers. And like, your living room is like when you come out of your office there, you have to, like, turn. So like, your fingers have to. And and my god, yeah. The ends of my fingers are very flexible too. So I have two powers in my knee. Lots of water.
00;20;51;23 - 00;20;57;08
Yeah. Like two joints. No.
00;20;57;10 - 00;21;25;19
Like a hundred. So they come rapidly. So everything, cracking my knuckles makes the whole neighborhood shake. The car just doesn't stop. Sounds like you're cracking your knuckles, like in a cave. Or you think you're hearing. And it it's like. No, man, those are my other joints. What are your quizzes, Casey? What's your superpower? To not have to poop anymore.
00;21;25;21 - 00;21;52;20
It's just your butt gets removed. No butthole in my dreams, I know, I know. Oh, shit. What a waste of time. I have too much to do. I don't have time for the worst dream. Worse in my dreams. Beautiful and black. No, I'm not blocked. I wouldn't have to go. So no intestines? No.
00;21;52;20 - 00;22;16;12
So you mean it kind of just sort of evaporates? Yeah. You know what? I don't need to eat either. Has that okay? Yeah, but that's not hardware, so our powers are almost too cool. Zach, bring it home. What's your. I love that we're doing our dream warrior powers. Two episodes after we did a Dream Warriors episode. My.
00;22;16;18 - 00;22;42;25
If you're if you're feeling blocked creatively, my my suggestion is find something that is so stupid and make it slightly more stupid. Jay's got long ass fingers. Casey doesn't have a butthole. I got a lot to live up to here, I don't know. Yeah, I have no idea. Where are you going? To put those long, thick up.
00;22;42;27 - 00;23;12;19
They're always looking for buttholes. Oh my God, guys, you're talking about the fucking werewolf movie. Let's go. Let's go to sleep and talk to us. All right, everybody, good night.
00;23;12;21 - 00;23;21;14
Oh my God. Casey! Casey, no!
00;23;21;17 - 00;23;47;27
Never. Chester. Woman whose eyebrows meet. Yeah. What is it? Don't trust. Don't trust. If their eyebrows meet, they're born on Christmas and they're born feet first. Oh, and feet first. Yeah. God. What? Oh, my God, I love it. Casey. That's hilarious. Is it drawn on or did you grow it out while you were? Oh, yeah. You just forced it while you're forced it.
00;23;47;27 - 00;24;08;22
And since you don't have it, but, you know, it came out. Yeah. For its hair out here it for. Yeah, yeah. Oh, my God, that's funny. Casey with the unibrow I love it. I was going to just show up like this to begin with, but I want wanted. It's a slow transformation. So funny. Oh, Wolf is going to at the very.
00;24;08;22 - 00;24;32;04
No wolf is going to come out of Casey's mouse and like, oh, damn it, we gotta we gotta cut for time. Sorry, guys. That reveal is going to have to wait. Okay. For the company of wolves, we have seven official monster reveals. If you are new to the show, a monster reveal is any time that a monster is revealed to us as the audience or to a character in the movie.
00;24;32;07 - 00;25;00;13
And this was my choice for our Scary Tales triple feature. And so I'm going to go ahead and read the synopsis from IMDb. I, Casey, can't oh, are you having a hard time taking me seriously right now? Yeah. All right. A teenage girl in a country manor falls asleep while reading a magazine and has a disturbing dream involving wolves prowling the woods below her bedroom window.
00;25;00;16 - 00;25;19;10
Do we know for sure she was reading a magazine? There is a magazine next to her pillow that says something about, like, sleeping or dreaming or something. It's like in the title. Okay. The show, I think it's called The Shattered Dream. I think it's, I think which feels very, you know, based on kind of what we're talking about.
00;25;19;10 - 00;25;40;22
It's like the shattered dream of, like, expectation and or even like, I guess there's, I guess there's a million reasons or like, what our expectations are of, like, growing up or what other people's expectations are of us or, you know, what it is to fall in love and to go out into the world and be an adult. You know what?
00;25;40;22 - 00;26;02;24
I feel like this movie, just to tie it back to a past episode, in a past movie, it's not really the same. But in terms of like the kind of conversation it's opening up for us, it reminds me of, Gothic a little bit. Oh, totally. Yeah, I got that vibe. Abstract were. There's really no wrong way to discuss this.
00;26;02;26 - 00;26;22;00
And I think that's also fun. It's a jarring experience in a way. But then it's also sort of it's not that like you get it, it's, it does feel like not to be so corny or dramatic, but like it kind of feels like waking up from a dream. It's like, I think there is something there. I don't really quite understand all of it, but I get it.
00;26;22;00 - 00;26;46;07
I feel it like we've we've set this on about such a basic. But like David Lynch said, he does want people to come out of his movies, you know, necessarily understanding it but feeling it. So so I that kind of applies to this movie. Yeah. And it's more than like I mean, it's very stylistic. And we had talked about some of like the old, like the 70s horror movies that went for like style over substance.
00;26;46;10 - 00;27;08;13
It's like there's a lot here. It's just it's kind of like you had said at the beginning, it's like you think it's about one thing and then something happens and it's like, oh, well, maybe it's not about that anymore. Yeah, tonally it's very similar actually, to return us. Oh, okay. Oh okay. See, I haven't seen it. I haven't watched it yet and I haven't seen it since I was very little saying.
00;27;08;13 - 00;27;33;09
Yeah, it's totally very similar and very like vibes are very similar. Makes sense I guess they're only like a year apart I think. Okay, so yeah, but just from like young women in period that like the esthetics I like. Yes. So much I know. And it's them both being like fairy tale ish. Like fantasy kids horror movies. Well this one yeah, a bit more.
00;27;33;12 - 00;27;49;08
There's a little bit more gross stuff in this one. Yeah, yeah. Well and I, you know, I saw I was talking about that interview that I heard from Neil Jordan and he was like pissed when they got an R-rating because he wanted this to be like at the time of the interview was right when this movie came out.
00;27;49;08 - 00;28;13;20
So 1984 for. Yeah. And he said, like, you know, movies right now are made for, you know, speaking in the time he was like, are made for like boys, like 12 to 17, like that's like the target audience for these movies. And he wanted this to be like that, but one that girls would want to see. And then he was mad that it got an R-rating.
00;28;13;20 - 00;28;32;04
And I was like, dude, what ten year old girl decides male and shit in this movie you would want to watch? There was a scene and we'll we'll get to it. But there's one scene where Cody was watching this with me, and then it was like he checked out. He's like, I can't do this. I'm sorry. Really? And I don't blame him because, spoiler alert, can I spoil it?
00;28;32;04 - 00;28;48;09
We don't ever spoil it. But how? Sometimes. Sometimes you're reading a fairy tale book and you read the ending first and you spoil. I'm going to spoil it. The scene that I'm talking about is my favorite part of the movie. It's my favorite. Like it's going to come up later in the park. Oh, okay. So you're not actually spoiling anything?
00;28;48;11 - 00;29;11;21
No, you're just saying that you're like, oh, okay. Yeah, that was confusing. But okay. I'm excited to to get this. I think the, the even just the asides from like aside from like the violent stuff and like the transformation seen in the blood and like, whatever, I think that the like I don't think that ten year old girls should see that fucking rapey dude at the end.
00;29;11;24 - 00;29;41;21
It. You know what I mean? It's so disgusting. It's so gross. It is pretty upsetting. Yeah. I think that age group, I would also argue, is maybe a little inappropriate, right? Yeah, I think so. But it's stuff I get the I get the sentiment of what he's saying and sure. But yeah we just targeting these young boys for like, oh, of course the issue is when you make movies like that because growing up as a female like, why are you laughing?
00;29;41;21 - 00;30;05;08
My you're right in YouTube, bro. You're like making like a serious conversation. Making a really good point. And all I see is that's so much more expressive. That's okay. That's not. That's okay. It's natural. It's not a thing. I, you know, I don't feel like that's sexual. Not on me. But some women. Yeah. Some of it. Yeah. Yeah.
00;30;05;10 - 00;30;42;26
So now I don't remember what. Good point. I was, you were. You were young. You were watching. I was watching this. I was watching, so. Yeah. You're so impressionable at that age. There are so many things that I grew up because they were in movies. I thought that they were normalized. Teenager. Oh, so like the old creepy man just hitting on this 12 year old girl would have probably made so many 12 year old girls think that it was okay and normal for this creepy ass dude to be doing this because yes, there's all this like, sub like undertones and all this, like, stuff going on in this movie.
00;30;42;29 - 00;31;05;13
Young women aren't going to fucking understand that, right? I remember when I was young, like going to movies and like, I was just like, it was all visuals. Yeah, yeah. I mean, you would hear the things they're saying, but I wouldn't be processing. Yeah. Just be like, okay, even Dumb and Dumber was my favorite movie when I was like six years old, and I didn't understand what they meant by nobody's hiring.
00;31;05;19 - 00;31;26;06
Yeah, unless you want to work 40 hours a week until I was, like, 20 years old. Yeah. Time. So that's. You make a good point because it also is kind of and I don't again, I'm not going to assume that this was his intention. I think he had good intention. Oh, I agree, the idea that if. Yeah okay.
00;31;26;06 - 00;31;43;04
Girls should be treated equally as an audience, you know, but it's like boys are just getting like fun explosions and monsters. But girls have to have this, like, important, like thematic, like, look, this is how you have to this is going to teach you about what it is to be you. And it's like, yeah, okay, let's move. And you have to tone it down.
00;31;43;11 - 00;32;03;28
Maybe that's about it, but not just action. Yeah, totally. Like yeah. You you know. Yeah. Exactly. Like it doesn't have to. Why does it feel a lesson just, you know, just to target that audience. Let them just have fun with it and and target them in that same way with the same intention. Right. Because to your point is, like every anyone, this has nothing to do with gender.
00;32;03;28 - 00;32;24;29
It just has to do with age. And chances are they're not going to register the point anyways. And it's probably gonna have the opposite effect. So fuck them up, right? Hey. All right, well, let's jump into our first reveal the movie opens on this, like, mansion, and the girl is the girl's sister is going upstairs and she's all pissed off, and, and she's like, yeah, I don't know why she's so mad at this cat.
00;32;25;00 - 00;32;52;04
What happened to you? This is my one thing, honestly. That actually. And I don't want to start our whole thing with a question, but what was the whole. I didn't understand the point of having the sister kind of hating on Rosaleen and then dying, and then then kind of like, what was that? I don't, I don't know. And I went over my head, I'm wondering if it was just so that we didn't feel bad about it.
00;32;52;06 - 00;33;14;21
Well, the only thing I could think of was, you know, there's a thing where Angela Lansbury, the granny, you know, she talks about like, oh, go ahead. How long was Angela Lansbury? 80 years old? Well, she was decades. She was she was 50 when this movie. She really held on to that. She could look every birthday she had.
00;33;14;21 - 00;33;39;09
She's like, I'm not doing it. Yeah. Growing up, I'm saying this age for as long as I can know. But she was older. She was only 50, but she looked like she was 80. And then she stayed that way until she died, like 20, 50. So, I'm sure there was makeup applied to her. Oh, okay. So. Okay, so there's something with, like, Rosaleen being called a pest.
00;33;39;10 - 00;34;02;24
Like she's just a girl. Yeah, but when she's growing up, what I was saying there, Angela Lansbury, she says after the sister dies, she says that the sister was killed by a wolf with hair on the outside. And so when she died, she went straight to heaven. But other wolves have hair on the inside. And then when they kill you, they'll drag you straight to hell.
00;34;02;27 - 00;34;24;04
Yeah. Harry urethra is the only thing I could think. Like, I get what you're saying. Like, what was that? Because personally, like I mentioned before, I don't really understand why we had to be in the modern time at all. Yeah, I do get what you're saying about how, like, it just adds an element that she's interpreting it as a certain way, but other than that, it's really it.
00;34;24;07 - 00;34;45;11
So, like, what's the point? But maybe it's to show that, like. But, you know, I was gonna say that some men are good and not all men are bad, but then it goes against the rest of the story where they're like, oh, everybody's little fucking wolf. Well, no. So is no. Lansbury's character literally doesn't say a normal thing in this movie.
00;34;45;12 - 00;35;07;01
She speaks in fucking riddles the entire time. She doesn't say anything that makes any sense. I thought that she was already a wolf because she just wasn't like. I was like, oh, because, you know, thinking about little Red Riding Hood and how she turns, you know, how the wolf whatever. In the end, I thought she was already a wolf just because she's fucking not making any sense.
00;35;07;08 - 00;35;27;08
So she is she caught by the end. Spoiler. Right. Let's go guys. I thought that was the part that Cody walked out on when her fucking head explodes like the porcelain head explode. Yeah, the beauty and the beast thing came after this, but I don't know, maybe it had something. Oh, she was missing the whole time. She's mad, but,
00;35;27;11 - 00;35;46;17
That's funny, but she didn't. She was actually going to play Belle, but she's like, I'm actually literally a porcelain pie. If you just want to play, this is what's not necessary. We're going to animate it now. Nothing she says makes any sense. Especially like going back to your point of him trying to target like like ten year old girls.
00;35;46;20 - 00;36;14;03
But the fuck yeah. Yeah, they're going to understand anything granny says. Yeah, whatever. Yeah, I think, and maybe it's something just like grand granny, like literally being the oldest character is just supposed to represent like an older mindset. I think she's supposed to be wise, but she's. Yeah, wise. But she like, it's like, yeah, she didn't open herself up.
00;36;14;03 - 00;36;35;21
She didn't stray from the path. She's someone who stays on the path and she's like dead set on that. Like they will not learn anything more because I'm too scared to ascend. Yeah, but isn't that ironic that then a wolf from off the beaten path comes and kills her? Exactly. And I think there is something to that where it's like, it doesn't matter what you avoid, it's going to come for you anyways.
00;36;35;21 - 00;36;58;01
Yeah. Life's life's happenin, you know, like, you either run from it or you just, like, embrace. Embrace it. Yeah. A lot of people, I don't know, it's funny. Sarah, there's just there's a lot to unpack. Yeah. And I think I'm trying to. Sorry. My brain is like, now thinking about other little, like, moments of, like, very direct symbolism throughout the movie.
00;36;58;01 - 00;37;26;07
But I need to contain myself. Well, it's so it's so this movie, so wild that we started, I mentioned that we were going to talk about the first reveal, and we can't even get to that because this is like so much. Yeah. Then I get down, so I get that, okay, so the first reveal is like the opening, the, the beginning of the dream, which I thought was going to be like, it's self, it's a little dream, but it it just keeps going the whole 90 minutes.
00;37;26;09 - 00;37;50;01
Well then it's not again like it's the, the hat on a hat thing, which I don't think it really is. But that was my first impression was because I was like, you, it's hard to watch a movie like this and not be in the headspace of like, I need to figure out, like, what's going on, because this is clearly like very abstract, because you have the sister whose name is Alice, and she is our kind of entry point into this other world with like, giant mushrooms and dolls.
00;37;50;01 - 00;38;07;19
And I'm like, wait, is this like an Alice in Wonderland thing? Which I guess could be the same? Like you could kind of draw, like, that's the bridge. It's Alice going down the rabbit hole. And then we're in. It doesn't have to be so like, literal or like when you're adapting two different stories, it's like, no, no, no, no.
00;38;07;19 - 00;38;29;18
It's just the symbolism of it. We get it. Fairy tales, you know, girls kind of growing up in, you know, under the guise of this symbolic, crazy story, that did throw me for a second, but I think unless you guys had another read on it, I guess it's not really that much to unpack. Yeah, I did, I mean, to me, it was.
00;38;29;18 - 00;38;53;16
To me, it was kind of, as straightforward as it could be. You know, you see the dolls that are giant now in this world that were in her room. And so it's kind of just like a psychedelic mushroom she takes right before bed that are now grown as a 12 year old girl. Yeah, well, speaking of, like, 12 year old girl, and like, her, puberty is sort of like all those fucking, like, tissues that were blowing around their fucking room.
00;38;53;23 - 00;39;28;16
I was like, you got the wrong gender here, people. Us. But you know what? We're all the tissues blowing around the room for. It's messy. Danny, did you like my face? Yeah. The universal really added to it. You know, thinking of a 12 year old girls, puberty. And they're like, oh, no, no, no, no, that's what we were talking about, you know, and then like, you know, I know listeners just know that we're doing our best to delicately walk around what is ultimately a very sensitive subject.
00;39;28;19 - 00;39;45;05
We're very aware of that. We're also just trying to do our job. So bear with us. And if you have thoughts, chime in too. We can hear you always. Danny. Again. Danny's always got voices up there.
00;39;45;07 - 00;40;08;17
Man. But, yeah, her sister gets devoured by wolves. We still haven't gotten there yet. Oh, yeah? Yeah, the fucking. The fucking wolves eat the girl. Sort of. Yeah. They just though, because she's got an open casket and everything. Yeah. And she kind of scares herself to death. She just screams and kind of like, yeah, she's out and they're just me.
00;40;08;18 - 00;40;15;24
That's something. That's right. Yeah. They're just like, the German Shepherds. Yeah.
00;40;15;26 - 00;40;34;23
I wonder if. Okay. Listeners, I'm so sorry. We're going to Trier, but I'm going to once I wrap my head around this, will, I'll be a little faster. But the idea of her, because I wrote in my notes, I was like, does she scare herself to death? Because it's not like the wolves come and eat her. What is it Danny says when he's giving blowjobs?
00;40;34;25 - 00;41;09;01
So once I wrap my head around this, I'll go a little fast. I'm sorry. I don't know if he's laughing at the same thing, but she's. Yes. Once I wrap my mouth and hands around this. Oh, okay. Well, find a rhythm. You know, but it's like. And maybe that is something to be said about the idea of this setting us up for the story is that the mere concept of these wolves and what they represent is enough to.
00;41;09;03 - 00;41;31;17
Obviously, this won't happen in real life, but on the symbolic level, kill her. It's so overwhelming that it's like she's not ready for it. She's not prepared. It is is parallel. Yeah, yeah. And it's like, look, the wolves didn't do anything. They scared her. It's scary, but they it's like they hate her. Anything. The only things we really see wolves eat in this movie are like animals.
00;41;31;19 - 00;41;48;24
Yeah. Which, by the way, they're very mean to frogs in this movie. Yeah. Do you see that fucking frog in the opening credits? When the dog jumps over the log, that frog's like, oh, the only credits. Oh, no, I don't remember that. I remember a frog from a different scene. Right. Yeah. There's a lot of frogs. That's movie and pythons.
00;41;48;26 - 00;41;53;01
What is this? What a would.
00;41;53;03 - 00;42;14;23
When you said, like, these are just dogs, right? I actually liked that they used dogs just because, I mean, what else are they going to do? Yeah. You know, just unleash wolves. Well, it was better than them trying to make, like, you know, some sort of animatronic or. Sure, you know, whatever. So, yeah. Yeah, I did actually like that.
00;42;14;26 - 00;42;30;24
Although I do love what is it? The never ending story is that the one of the wolves never ending is kind of in the shadows. Yeah. So, I mean, yeah, it's been it's been so long since I've seen that, I just. Well, if you're if you're doing one, that's one thing. But then a whole pack of wolves.
00;42;30;25 - 00;42;51;21
That's true. Yeah. You know, they didn't afford they're all just broke and they're like go. Yes I did hear that. That one wolf that like later in the movie when they set the goose in, like they set the trap with the goose. They did use apparently did use a wolf for that because, I mean, it's it's clearly a wolf in the movie, but, I guess it was, like, scared of the goose.
00;42;51;24 - 00;43;16;19
So you kind of see it kind of like cowering when it's going up. You mean it? It even this wolf understands the symbolism of this movie. It's like, see, I'm also scared. The what? But the wolf. But whoa, whoa. So the sisters, they the story just based on that moment, he's like, we should rewrite this to make it mean something else.
00;43;16;21 - 00;43;29;18
The, the sister's funeral. When the fucking, little kid is sticking his tongue out at Rosaleen and he is backhanded with his mom's fucking knuckles.
00;43;29;20 - 00;43;53;13
That was insane. The way she smacked it was so fucking funny. Moms are off the hook in this movie. Like, later. There's even a scene with the baby's moms just manhandling them like, oh, yeah, I was like, oh yeah, dude. Yeah. Like she's like, shut up, all right. But she just kicks the baby out the window. You had said earlier there was you were like, there was a moment when Cody checked out and I was like, oh, is it?
00;43;53;13 - 00;44;13;27
Oh yeah. For me, it was when she told the little fucking two year old girl who's crying to shut up. Yeah. It's like, oh, I was like, oh, poor girl. I know they don't know they're in a movie. They're not like acting. Yeah. They're all just screaming cry. Yeah. That's why I don't know, because that's for it.
00;44;13;29 - 00;44;35;22
Because like, I cannot be on set. Oh, it's, you know, I don't want children because I wouldn't be able to not tell my children to shut the fuck up. And you didn't know exactly. Yeah. That's funny. All right, let's move on. Revealing the really quick, one of the big things that I wanted to mention before we get.
00;44;35;24 - 00;44;42;22
Oh, no, we'll get into this. We're actually getting into this right now. This. He didn't get his head wrapped around it. Apparently.
00;44;42;24 - 00;45;07;15
This is granny telling a story to Rosaleen. And this is about a woman who marries, like, he's just like a fucking traveler or something, right? He's like, he's just like a random guy. I know she marries him, and, he's a wolf, right? Yeah. So. So he goes out to, to what do they say, going out to be with nature or something?
00;45;07;15 - 00;45;28;12
There's a whole thing here. I had to get a poop. Poop? Well, that's what I'm saying. Like, he like he said, like nature's calling me, right? And, when he doesn't come back, the lady's out there and she's screaming because the wolves were out there, and she said they came and took him when he was making water.
00;45;28;15 - 00;45;53;05
Making one. The nice way to say peeing. He's peeing. And then it's funny, you hear the narrator again. You squeeze in a lemon, you hear the granny telling the story again, and she said that she took a new husband, and this new husband was not too shy to piss in a pot. And there's, a pot full of pee there on the thing, and, so, yeah.
00;45;53;07 - 00;46;23;21
So that's why I'm so glad that's my thing. I love having pots in the kitchen. As positive. Yeah. One thing I did want to note, just for the for our, regular listeners is funny enough, the first movie that we started last year of 2025 and the first movie were starting this year of 2026. Both have their, like, constructed around characters telling flashbacks within flashbacks and stories.
00;46;23;24 - 00;46;46;04
I wrote. Yeah, we were like inception ING in this one. Yes, we were Ghost of Mars. Think we were Jason. Steve the main dude. You're right on Mars. Our first one was our first last year, right? Yeah, we kicked off 2025 with Ghost Ghostbusters. The current wind follows us. The crimson wind is nothing if not blood and flashbacks.
00;46;46;06 - 00;47;15;02
Hill in a windy setting. Yeah, because we went from the modern world to the fairy tale world. World. We go to, to a flashback story within the world to to Victoria. Oh my gosh. So interesting. Yeah. I was like, oh yeah, levels, dude. So many. But the roster levels did feel like, oh, this movie looks complex.
00;47;15;04 - 00;47;38;11
Levels, dude. But the husband goes out to take a piss and he comes out or he comes back rather, like a bunch of long hair later. I don't know how long it took him to grow that hair. Well, she had three kids. Yeah. She says it happened so high. My belly quite a few years, and he comes back and he's pissed and hungry, like, okay.
00;47;38;14 - 00;48;00;22
And, he's mad that she fucking had all these kids with Adam. And so he just sits tearing off his skin. Well, he. Yeah, because she cheated on him, you know, after she's an adult, her because he was gone for, like, six years. Yeah. This is so mad. So he just starts peeling off his skin. And this was what this was on the.
00;48;00;24 - 00;48;18;26
This picture was on the back of the box in the video store. So not only did you get the wolfs coming out of the throat, but then you flip it over and you see this like, peeling face with the hand. It has no skin on it and it's all like, gross. See, this was new to me. I did not know this was going to be in the movie.
00;48;18;26 - 00;48;46;17
And oh, okay. Ate it up. Yeah. So yeah. So that that, it was marketed towards young women, I guess, at the. Well and what I, if I know anything about young women, it's they love when bodies are just skin is just ripped off of their body I mean I do. Yeah. This is like, wait a minute, actually, now that you mention it, no I do, I yeah, I also love this, scene a lot.
00;48;46;18 - 00;49;08;24
No, it was cool. Again, finding these patterns in our podcasts, not only are we dream warriors in this episode, this is the second episode in a row where a character has had their skin. Spoiler. They're, just pulled from their, Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's also, you know, I'm going to skip ahead just a second, because I have more to say about the actual transformation.
00;49;08;24 - 00;49;34;05
But it's also probably, I don't know, the sixth or seventh movie we've covered, where there's milk mixed with blood. I hate it. So much. We do this white, super white substance mixed with blood. Grass. Yeah. Milky blood. Don't get by me. Don't you think they got by me? Wow. Good, I guess, but, like, they put him in, they put his head in a bucket of milk.
00;49;34;07 - 00;49;59;20
Is gross. Is that was. Yeah. The husband comes in and he chops off the head of this wolf. Right. Because the guy becomes a wolf. We talked about him peeling the skin, but then he like, his, like, wolf head kind of comes out and, the new the new husband comes in and chops its head off, and the wolf head flies into a bucket of milk, and then it, like, bobs around for a little bit.
00;49;59;20 - 00;50;24;21
And then when it comes back up, it's the human head. And that was, it was pretty cool. It was like as gross. Is that substances. It was cool. I like that the way because we were talking about how this movie kind of you start to realize it's kind of it's talking it's more, it's more subversive. It's saying like these monsters aren't just monsters, but in this one specifically, like we obviously open up with the wolves and it leads to a young girls jet.
00;50;24;21 - 00;50;42;13
So it's like, okay, there, we get it there. Scary. This one I felt like they were really diving into like the idea of male entitlement, you know, like this woman is just trying to get by. She's raising she's clearly has her hands full. She's doing all this shit on her own. The guy just leaves her. And then she's like, six years.
00;50;42;15 - 00;51;12;22
Yeah, she has to deal with the consequences and then deal with the consequences that which are not even really consequences. It's like she's being punished for him leaving and her having to continue to survive. And then even the husband who protects her and kills the guy is, like, entitled to her. Now. It's like, so it's this idea of like her being like possessions to these, to this, you know, the, the stereotypical, I don't know, like, what's the word?
00;51;12;22 - 00;51;28;21
I was like, it just slipped my mind, but Well, because if I'm not mistaken to it, to your point, the husband who comes back in and cuts off the wolf's head, then he's pissed at the wife, right? Yeah. Right. Okay. Yeah. It's like nothing she does is right. She just keeps having to deal with the brunt of it, all right?
00;51;28;28 - 00;51;56;21
Right. Going back to the actual transformation, though, you know, obviously being 40 years old, there have been advancements in special effects and stuff. But this is what the the when he peels off his skin and it's just the musculature underneath him. This is what Hellraiser wanted to do with Frank, you know. Sure. But which is funny, you say that Hellraiser now successfully maybe.
00;51;56;26 - 00;52;13;07
No. Again, no. I mean, I love Hellraiser, but that that part, you know, and I'm not. I don't want to say I'm upset with it because I love that movie. I don't have any real big issues with that movie. But, you know, the one thing I was like, I wish they would have spent just Google Hellraiser Frank and you'll see pictures of it.
00;52;13;09 - 00;52;29;25
But, that's like the one thing that missed the mark was, you know, they put all this money into these effects for Hellraiser, and they're really, really incredible. But they didn't. That's the one part that they didn't do very well. They kind of just drew black lines all over his face. And like, oh, you know, put a prosthetic over his nose.
00;52;29;26 - 00;53;03;01
Guess we got to rewatch Hellraiser. Oh, yeah. One thing I do want to say is what's interesting is, again, I maybe I'm repeating myself, but I like the idea that these aren't things. This isn't what Rosalie is experiencing yet. It's just what she's being told. It's grandma's experience. It's grandma's or granny's, interpretation. Because even in if not the next scene, she Rosalie tells her mom about the story, and her mom even says if there's a beast and men, it meets its match women too.
00;53;03;04 - 00;53;23;24
So she's kind of saying like, yeah, that's it's definitely a an honest read on what men are, but let's not discount the women's role in this too. Well, then she turns into a wolf at the end. Yeah, exactly. Because we're only in Granny's story. We're just seeing the point she's trying to make, which is a valid point. It doesn't.
00;53;23;24 - 00;53;44;05
That's the thing is, this movie doesn't. It's not like just because one thing is true, the other becomes false. It's that there are multiple truths. I mean, you know, even with like, dating and stuff. Now being in my mid 30s and obviously I'm not doing that at this current moment, but my friends are like, oh, men are so horrible, men are so horrible.
00;53;44;05 - 00;54;02;24
And they just and I'm like, okay, yes, but women are horrible too. Like these. Some of that, some of these men have also had horrible experiences with women as well. Like, yeah, there's bad people everywhere. It doesn't have anything to do with men. Women. Yeah, sure. But it doesn't discount the fact that there are like disgusting dudes out there.
00;54;03;00 - 00;54;18;28
It's just that we all have multitudes kind of. And. Right. This movie is showing that. And. Yeah. And if you're only thinking that men are horrible, what is the point? Yeah, exactly. You know, I mean, you can't go on. You got to stray from the path, you know, you got to face the fears and you got to see what's out there.
00;54;18;28 - 00;54;44;07
And obviously. But you also have to be careful, you know, like Rosalie sells a giant fucking dagger with her. She's not, like, here to fuck around. Right? You sell to look out for yourself. Yeah. She's kind of a badass. Yeah, honestly. And then, like, at the end, she turns into a fucking wolf. She's like, fuck this. Like she's honestly, she's open to the fact that despite the world and even those closest to her telling her, like, hey, don't do this, be careful.
00;54;44;07 - 00;55;01;19
She's like, I'll find out for myself. I want to see like, yeah, maybe it won't end well for me, maybe it will, but that's for me to decide. Yeah. And there is a let you know when the she's talking to her mom. She says I'd never let a man strike me. And then she also says once there once.
00;55;01;19 - 00;55;32;25
Like, I think I forget how she worded it exactly. But like basically once real dogs mate, she says, do they beat the bitches? Yeah, yeah. But Casey, you mentioned Hellraiser doing this skin peeling scene. It's funny because I immediately thought of Nightbreed, which is also Clive Barker. When the one dude, I forget his name, but he takes the thing and he cuts his his, his skin off of his face and peels it off.
00;55;32;28 - 00;56;00;21
That's immediately what I thought. I was like, oh yeah. So yeah, Clive Barker, Clive Barker should have made this movie had been that have been interesting. The company is a fucking Clive Barker werewolf movie, dude, and that's pretty cool. Hell yeah. Okay, our third reveal. I'm calling him the Rogaine kid. Yeah. The Rogaine. Yeah, like Billy the Kid, but the Rogaine kid.
00;56;00;23 - 00;56;25;06
Because no. Who is telling this story? Oh, the granny again. She's talking to us, told us a story. She's talking about fucking priests and having, like, bastard kids. Yep. And then they all end up being werewolves. Yeah. And so this story is, like, involves, like, this kid who is apparently granny needs to get out into the world. Like, I get it.
00;56;25;06 - 00;56;34;08
I think our heart's in the right place, but I don't. I think she's old and her cougars all dry, so she's pissed about it.
00;56;34;10 - 00;57;05;13
You sitting by that fire my age when I'm a dream warrior, my cutters no longer dried up. Well, great powers, Granny's dream warrior powers. She's super wet. Just slip a slip and slide. Just slide in about the. That's a transportation. Yeah, that wasn't a bucket of milk. Did that also go up?
00;57;05;16 - 00;57;37;07
It's so gross. That's nasty. God, yeah, but the boy gets Terence Stamp shows up. Oh, is that Rosalie? Yes. Okay, I don't know, driving the car at all, but. Well, there were more, like, stupid. Because to get it, because Terence Stamp is credited as the devil. So he double. That would have been nice to know, but he's driving a car, right?
00;57;37;09 - 00;58;04;19
If granny is telling this story, how does she know what this fucking, like, Rolls Royce or something like it is? This is very. Even Rosalie is like my dreams are. It's those damn mushrooms. Yeah. Are you eating those mushrooms again, granny? Eating the mushrooms. Okay, so this is Rosalie's dream about granny telling a story so you can see how, like, time is slipping through the cracks.
00;58;04;21 - 00;58;24;28
Yeah, time keeps on slipping into the bed. But this kid, like he wants some fucking potion from the devil. And he starts rubbing it on his titties. And then, like he's grown, I would take this. I'm a very not hairy man, and I've always wanted a hairy chest, so I get it. Okay. But okay. Do you take it from the devil?
00;58;25;05 - 00;58;57;26
I would, I would take it from here and stand, and I have. But I have a question, though. What is the point of this? I don't know, because on top of that, it cuts back to the modern world. And Rosaleen wakes up and she sees the kid like he's, like in the mirror of her bedroom. I don't know if she sees him before they get knocked, but he's got like, that Sylvester Stallone face where he's like, oh yeah, that's great.
00;58;57;28 - 00;59;22;04
But what's the what's the what? What's the correlation here with the, wanting chest hair and being a wolf? Okay, so I think there's something to be said about, like, intent and like, men, maybe they're, like, told. You know, if you want to be a man, you have to have these qualities. And as, like a teen boy, he maybe didn't.
00;59;22;07 - 00;59;38;24
He wasn't there yet. So he's. But where does this fit in with the werewolf thing? Well, the idea of, like, he's willing to make himself a wolf because he's told that, like, that's what it is to be a man. And then white is doing so. But the ones who are the ones, I think that's something I don't like.
00;59;38;27 - 00;59;58;24
Nature, of course, corrects him. It's like you can't, I don't know, like it's there's gotta be something with. And why does he have a giant moose knuckle? Oh, does he. Oh, it's so cool. Because like, if you're a real man, you get your momentum of every scene. And also why does he have to what does it have to do with a priest?
00;59;58;25 - 01;00;26;10
Like why does he have to be the priest kid? What does that have to do with anything? Maybe it's like expectation. Like you would think that the priest son would be devout and holy, but in actuality, like, it doesn't matter. Like, but if he's someone, he's already a werewolf. Well, maybe that's it. Like, nature is kind of like the vines are just literally symbolic of the fact that, like, nature will take its toll regardless.
01;00;26;10 - 01;00;38;18
Like, yeah, you're the son of the priest, but like, you're still going to want these things. He wants to be a man. He wants to be a wolf. And.
01;00;38;20 - 01;01;00;11
It does feel like nature's punishing him. So that is where it kind of went over my head a little bit. And then the mirror thing. Yeah. Something about like, what does a mirror represent? It's like vanity, it's self. But what is Rosalie getting from that is interesting. I almost would have liked like an on the nose thing. Maybe this is just bad, right.
01;01;00;14 - 01;01;18;27
But like a poster on the wall that he's like a teen idol that she is sure loves seeing it like this. You say like, maybe that's too obvious, but there's too much. There's too much. I, I did actually really like this movie just because it was so fucking weird. Yeah, but, there's just too much. What? Why is there so much?
01;01;18;27 - 01;01;43;15
Why so much? Yeah. In front of a hat. On a hat. But a hair on a hair, I don't know. Yeah, well, three hats on a hat. Oh. So many hats. That's on the poster. A lot of hats. So many, so many hats. All right, well, let's let's keep going. Let's go then. We think that.
01;01;43;17 - 01;02;03;28
So it is grandma's story, though. Or Granny's story. So it's her read on this. Maybe her read is see, he wanted to lean into this. He wanted to be a wolf, and now he's paying the price. You want that? It's unnatural. Like it came for him. It said no, no, no, no, no, you can't cheat your way into this.
01;02;04;00 - 01;02;21;18
But if they're all wolves already, that's. But they're if. Oh, if you're saying if men are all wolves. Yeah. Because men are horrible. So they're, you know. But he's also like the type of wolf. Like there's the in there's the inside hair wolf and there's the outside hair. Yeah. Because he's just trying to grow hair on the outside though.
01;02;21;21 - 01;02;40;04
Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's just supposed to be fine. I don't want to think about it anymore. Unless he got that reverse Rogaine. Oh, yeah, it grows on the inside. Yeah, but, like, I really can't stand against my bottle, and he's like, no no no no no no no no. You give me the reverse. Give me the reverse.
01;02;40;07 - 01;03;12;28
You want it inside here a bit okay. Okay. Let's talk about the dinner party. The Victorian dinner party. Because this was pretty fun. Cool. It was. Before we jump into that, I just wanted to I'm just like looking at my notes and kind of just repeating myself. But it's funny, I wrote down a quote when the dad says it's, you know, when, a man enters is basically like when you're when your daughter gets married, he's like, it's not about losing a daughter.
01;03;12;28 - 01;03;34;20
It's about gaining a son. And it is that idea of like, no one is safe in this movie. And I'm not trying to be like, men have it hard. If this is not what. That's not my story. Okay, Larry, I know, it's just. It's just interesting. The more I'm thinking about it, that they really the movie really does pull its weight in terms of making sure like, this isn't as simple as it seems, you know?
01;03;34;20 - 01;03;50;09
And like, life isn't as simple, like, we I mean, we drove this point home. I'm just looking at my notes. I'm like, oh, that's interesting. They really like, there is a, a thesis here, and it actually makes a lot of sense the more you hey, we should do a podcast where we talk about it. It really turns out.
01;03;50;09 - 01;04;10;25
Yeah, yeah. But, you know, I, I stand corrected. I don't want to jump to the dinner party just yet because there is, like you said, Danny, what about the dad? There's a lot that happens before that, before we move on from the priest, she says, granny, when the story's over, granny says you can't trust anyone, least of all a priest.
01;04;10;28 - 01;04;34;24
I mean, which is. Yeah. Then she gets. Granny said that wasn't a riddle. It seems like it contradicts her. Although maybe it is just the men is, because it's like you would think that granny would be like a priest. Represents her old fashioned view on people, you know, like. Yeah, but holiness. But it's interesting that even that isn't.
01;04;34;26 - 01;05;04;16
There is still a man. She's like, you know, dried up. So then she also gets her, she gets her Red Riding Hood, her hood, her period. Oh okay. What that symbolizes. Oh my God the crimson wind is everywhere. Larry. There's no. Yeah. In this movie I feel I did not that that went over my head.
01;05;04;18 - 01;05;23;25
You know Danny, all things considered. The one thing that I, got, And you didn't. I think you're okay. I think you're all right. You did all right. You got, you know, plenty of stuff, you know? No, but that's interesting. That was like, a great way to frame that. Like what? A great visual framing for this.
01;05;23;25 - 01;05;52;29
That is so. Yeah. Oh, God. Do I look. It's gothic all over again. It is fucking gothic. Gothic to the company of walls. Like David Warner, the dad eat flowers? Yeah. Why? Okay, listen to, David Warner also. Sorry. Sidetracked a little bit. Also, the dad in, Hansel and Gretel. Okay. That came out around this time.
01;05;53;07 - 01;06;11;21
Sure. With Cloris Leachman was in ice cream. Man two yes. Oh, man. We made a movie that we watched where we were like, which he played it. He played a priest in, a priest and played a you played a priest in, Ice Cream man. And if I'm not mistaken, he played a priest in The Omen two.
01;06;11;21 - 01;06;32;18
Right? Yeah. Yeah. Or was he, like a journalist? Yeah, a journalist. Okay, okay. Wait, is this the. Is this is that, like, kind of an unofficial trilogy, like the the David, the David Warner trilogy? Okay, but you start. Have you seen Hansel and Gretel? That's what I want. No, no, no, wait. Cloris Leachman is the witch.
01;06;32;18 - 01;07;00;15
Oh, not the Osgood Perkins. Oh, that's Gretel Hansel. No, it's from the 80s. So good. Okay, I see, so good. Good. Oh, God. She's terrifying. Yeah. It's fucking. It's so good. Google Cloris Leachman in, what's your name? Cause you don't know who Cloris Leachman is. You know, she ain't. No. Yeah. Yeah, that is very scary.
01;07;00;15 - 01;07;18;05
Oh, my gosh, I don't like it. Oh my God, I was obsessed with this movie when I was young because, like, all the fucking baked good. Because, you know, I love sugar. She loves it like a gingerbread house and all the baked goods. Oh, and that that the fucking cake. That. Oh, my God. And she like, snaps chocolate and stuff and I just sounds oh my God, I love this movie so much.
01;07;18;05 - 01;07;40;00
I'm sorry. Oh dude I have to check it out. Yeah, it's. Oh, I know who that lady is. Okay. The one that scared, the one that terrified me as a kid was, you know how, what's her name? Shelley Duvall did, like. Was it like storybooks? Yeah. Story till story something. Theater where she was America's fairy tale theater.
01;07;40;00 - 01;08;03;02
Maybe that was it. It was, And they did different stories all the time. And the one. Oh, my God, so fucking scared of the three little pigs. Jeff Goldblum as the big bird. Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. Holy shit. I remember, like, Billy Crystal was one of the pigs and, Oh. So good. I want to read.
01;08;03;02 - 01;08;25;00
It was such a staple of, like, things we watched as a kid. It's like, kind of like, dude, they have just enough budget to costume their characters. They're actors, but not enough to make it so. It made it so scary. Bear. Yeah. Oh, yeah. And like that, there's many families and he's got like he's got like his wife is like named Nadine and she like, lives in the fucking cave.
01;08;25;02 - 01;08;46;27
And there's the fucking music and she like, hits him on the head or somebody hits him on the head. He's got like, a big, like, goose egg. It's like gross looking and oh, he's got the whiskers and, so scary. Yeah. So just thinking about it, let's see. Oh, the fucking spiders that rained down from the ceiling.
01;08;46;27 - 01;09;19;04
Oh, yeah, I wrote that as an honorable mention. Oh, fuck. And she just fucking. She like, brushes them off. I miss that, but maybe that says something about her character. Yeah. Is there is a fearlessness to her. Yeah. Yeah. She's a badass. Like, she's like, can she's also dreaming. So it's true. So no, I'm just saying. So in her dreams she's beautiful and she's beautiful a lot and black.
01;09;19;06 - 01;09;39;12
Yeah. But the spiders, they're like, in the, like the chandelier above her. And then they just start, like, dropping onto her Bible and, like, 5 or 6 of them, and then they just, she just, like, brushes them up and it's like, oh, my God, spiders in the church, y'all. The power of Christ. This is when she goes with off with the boy and finds the crying baby statues.
01;09;39;13 - 01;10;07;11
And that's, that's the thing is, I wanted to I didn't want to, like, stop you from getting into our next reveal, but that is something I think we owe it to the listeners to unpack, even if we can't quite unlock the pack to unpack it. What's for it? What's that? What is census? Yeah, I don't know, because there's not even, like, you know, we talked about at the beginning, like the giant dolls, where it's like from her room, right?
01;10;07;11 - 01;10;36;20
There's nothing leading it back to, like, the room world. Yeah. Okay. There's symbolism of, don't you know, like, you get warned, like, you know, if you're at the man, you get pregnant, and then your whole life changes, so. Okay, so it climbs a tree. Stork. Got it. Baby symbolism. Eggs. Okay. Crack open. But it's the angel statues. And then she takes it and brings it home and says something to grandma.
01;10;36;26 - 01;11;16;20
And she's just like, oh, cool, right? Yeah. Like like. And it looks like the little statue. Christ, by the way, the crying in this movie, it's just like. It's like the stuff, like the water hurls the fucking things. They're just like, pouring that. Okay, let's try to unpack this. So there's something so clearly Rosalie represents like the oppositions to these, you know, these fables and and warnings, like, she's not going to she's she leaves the guy that she's on the walk with only to find the eggs with the babies in it.
01;11;16;22 - 01;11;34;12
But the baby's crying and it's not alive are they. Be there's something it's like are they babies. Are they angels. Are they baby angels. But are they. Exactly. What did I write I wrote I dropped, I wrote stone baby angels.
01;11;34;15 - 01;11;57;14
Oh I wrote she finds a crying baby statue in a birds egg. Is it kind of like, okay, maybe this is really stupid. And it feels very undercooked right now, but, it's sort of like the idea of, like, women are expected to be mothers, and she's not indulging in that. And therefore, like, this baby is has no chance of living.
01;11;57;15 - 01;12;16;02
It's like, oh, it's like she's being punished for that. Like, look what you did. Like by you not having children. It's the equivalent of killing what could have been. It's like whoa, whoa, whoa. It's like it's like this heavy thing. Yeah. The guilt of it all, you know, like the baby's crying. Like I never had a chance. It's like, okay.
01;12;16;02 - 01;12;46;03
Oh, my God, that's a lot. This works. So what's. Yeah. Don't know. Like, I mean, we did talk about the the the hood, the reading, the red right. The red hood. Symbolizing her period. Yeah. So. Yes. So now, like in biology, now she's able to have children. Right. And so. Oh, yeah. Yeah, maybe like the egg and the baby.
01;12;46;06 - 01;13;07;02
I mean, is it just fertility? Yeah. Yeah. But why? It's like, kind of contrasting it with the of her being like, still behaving like a child, which she is, like climbing a tree, being silly, and she's still confronting this, like thing that she eventually has to confront or contend like some. Yeah. Like it's always going to be there.
01;13;07;02 - 01;13;30;09
Yeah. The visuals, I think, I think we got it because she's a victim of the specificity of the visuals are throwing us, and she's also climbing the tree to like, hide from that boy. Yeah. So the stork, I mean, to be honest, the real monster here is the stork who abandoned her children. She took away her storks. Put that pressure on us.
01;13;30;10 - 01;13;53;25
Abandoning baby. All right, well, it's your baby I'm dropping on my doorstep. But she brings the baby with her, which is weird. Well, I mean, she doesn't abandon it, so that's a good thing. I think we close the book on this again with the satisfaction of having figured it out. Okay, we gave up. All right, let's check it off the list.
01;13;53;28 - 01;14;17;02
Shipped you. That's my checklist to to two and two suitcases. She brings it back, and then, the mom is. Well, I didn't understand why the mom was bathing her like that and, like, why she was. The mom was giving her a bath like she was a fucking toddler. Maybe that's what it is. Maybe it's like the dual duality of hers.
01;14;17;05 - 01;14;36;29
She was like, fighting the mom when the mom was trying to, like, wash her face. She was like, no, I think it's real. Yeah, it's the dual duality of her still being a child, but, you know, okay. Being a woman. Yeah. Having the freshest and finding all these holes and. Yeah. And this is when Rosalie tells her mom a story.
01;14;36;29 - 01;15;02;27
Why did I write? I wrote Rosalie sympathizes with the wolves. Is this when she sees the wolves in the woods? This is when we start to see this is the about to see the the dinner party. Which in that story the fancy guy sleeps with lady who's like of a lower class. Right. And then everyone gets her husband, gets her pregnant and then it.
01;15;03;00 - 01;15;29;24
So if Rosaleen is telling this story. Yeah. Like she's so she's, she's then she's great. She's starting to understand that. Yeah. Grant. Yeah. You know, it's like, wait a minute. Why are we. There's more to this. It's not. Oh well it's the it's the. You're thinking of the lady eating the turkey leg, chowing down on that like a turkey, like, makes you want to go to universal.
01;15;29;26 - 01;16;01;01
Yeah. It also is showing that women do have the ability. Like, they're not like granny will paint them as victims in roses. Oh, I don't think that's true. You know, I think things can happen to us is it can happen to anyone. But women still have the ability to in the autonomy to stand up for themselves. And even if, even if it doesn't work out for them, like she's still going to leave that having been abandoned by this guy, right?
01;16;01;05 - 01;16;18;15
You'd it's like the world can still will still view you as that, but that but you can change, you know, you can still have have power in that in that game. And she does. And I think that's what the you know, I'm I'm kind of we're kind of brushing past the, the big reveal is them turning into wolves.
01;16;18;15 - 01;16;44;25
And her laughing is like I win, you guys suck and I and then they can acknowledge that they have to come sing to her baby every night. Yeah. She uses it to, like, soothe her baby's cries and and is that like an a literal sense? Is that her like having the satisfaction of, like, I know I'm not the monster in this situation.
01;16;44;28 - 01;17;10;16
I can live with this and I can handle this even if the cards suck. I'm not going to let this, like, defeat me. Or was she still able to trap the man? I mean maybe yeah. Maybe there's like more of a literal read on it where it's like she got kill them. That's what was in that turkey leg.
01;17;10;18 - 01;17;33;23
Boy that woman looked like a fucking monster before she turned. And I know, you know, fucking turkey leg. But, yeah, I did just love how it got really fucking weird there for a minute and just for a minute. And then the rest is pretty chill. Little clothes, dogs wearing clothes. They have their fucking wigs on and everything.
01;17;33;25 - 01;17;54;00
There I was, like, thinking of, like, what it was about aunts, that there were moments where I got a little, like, angry at the movie because they were, like, smashing things. And if you look at the dogs, they're like, like, oh, yeah, skittered skittered in. They skidded. Yeah. Skittish okay. Skittish. Skittles. Oh this girl. Yeah.
01;17;54;02 - 01;18;02;15
Yeah man. Making a movie with this many animals and like, well this many animals. Victorian dresses.
01;18;02;18 - 01;18;23;25
Making a movie with this many animals. But then also like a movie with like kids, you know, not necessarily this one, but. Yeah, I mean, there were kids in this, but I want to know, what do you think? Oh, sorry. Her, her dream. What era does that take place? Probably like the fairy tale world. Oh.
01;18;23;27 - 01;18;45;03
Oh, I see you're saying. Are you talking about, like, the, like where the bulk of this movie takes place in the world? Yeah, yeah. I don't know how many of the time that like these, like, Grimm fairy tales are being written. Yeah, right. I guess. Well, because, like, I'm wondering, you know, like, cuz then she tells a story about the Victorian era, right?
01;18;45;10 - 01;19;07;10
It's like the movie Midnight in Paris. You just keep going back in time a little bit more and more like 1830s to 1880s. So like that. Oh, really? Yeah. Maybe she was telling a story. Maybe she was talking about the future. Maybe. Maybe she predicted that everyone was going to wear clothes like that and shit. Because also that part is also that there aren't.
01;19;07;13 - 01;19;33;18
Censorship mechanism. But the, that like tent, that outside tent that they're in is outside her actual house. Like in the dream, when are like the you see the the peasant lady walk into the tent where they're having this party. Right. It's outside, like, okay, the modern day house, right where she's sleeping. Where she's sleeping. Interesting.
01;19;33;18 - 01;19;54;29
Okay. Yeah, I miss that. I mean, it is just one big fever dream. So I think I was so blown away, but, like, in terms of casting, how crazy is it that they not only had to cast these, like, dogs and wolves, but they had to find wolves that wore Victorian era clothing? It's just insane. Like, can you imagine like the the casting director for this?
01;19;55;01 - 01;20;19;06
Yeah. Academy Awards. And then like, obviously Wolves don't read. So how do you translate that request to a wolf? So they have to come with their Victorian clothing on their Victorian clothing. Right. They are like going please provide your own costume.
01;20;19;09 - 01;20;41;07
All right, let's move on to our fifth reveal. This is the Huntsman meets granny. Now to get here. Rosaleen has been sent off to Granny's house just for, like, oh, to check on her or something. And the mom's like, well, if she asks you to stay, go ahead and stay and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, but stay on the path.
01;20;41;10 - 01;20;47;20
And when she's on the path, she meets the Huntsman.
01;20;47;23 - 01;21;12;00
Very fairy tales. Traditional fairy tales would tell us, is like the hero of the story, right? Right. Okay, so I forgot the whole, like, ending of I basically forgot your little Red Riding Hood. Like the whole story of, like how dude basically comes out of nowhere and saves her at the last minute. Okay? Because she shows us the granny's house.
01;21;12;02 - 01;21;38;02
The wolf had eaten granny, right? Yes. And then. Then granny then pretended to be granny and then the huntsman comes and cuts open the wolf. Right? Yeah. The granny comes out okay. Yeah. So he's. My granny was already graves already. Oh, gotcha. Okay. That's. I thought she was being strong. Cool, weird. But in this one, it's given away because of his.
01;21;38;04 - 01;21;50;01
His eyebrows meet. That's right. So you're like, way to start to give away. I am increasingly more suspicious of Cassie in this episode.
01;21;50;03 - 01;22;16;29
Listeners, again, this is an audio platform, but she developed a unibrow later. I also was born feet first, so yeah, and on Christmas Day she was telling us she wasn't. Yeah. You can't trust me. So is Jesus a werewolf? He's a zombie. You got it right. A zombie, zombie werewolf. Oh, yeah. Mary's like. Please come out feet first.
01;22;17;02 - 01;22;27;19
She's shaving his, you know, brush. Like no one has to know this guy. Know that? Like, we're brushing past the part where they meet in the woods.
01;22;27;22 - 01;22;48;14
You know what you just said? It's like, oh, it's just fictiony. Like Danny said, the Mary's like shaving. Jesus, bro. And, like, he comes out feet first, but she, like, paints hands on his feet. Well, you don't come out hand first either. I know that's better than feet first, because that means you're. I.
01;22;48;17 - 01;23;11;21
I mean, that would make sense to you. Like, you know, you learn how to dive, you put your foot, your hands. He's going to be a diver. I know Jean-Claude Van Damme probably came out feet first, though. He's just comes out, kick in. It's like. Yeah, like, whoa, where is it? Oh, there is a little. There is.
01;23;11;24 - 01;23;34;29
Jean-Claude Van Damme would have been perfect in this role. We'll get to it. But let's you know, Sylvester Stallone also came out feet first, but he's like hanging on like a cliffhanger. You hanging on to what? He's, like, dragging him out of his home. He's like, no, no, no, that's Arnold, I don't know, it was the Rockies. You did the face though.
01;23;34;29 - 01;23;37;27
He did this.
01;23;37;29 - 01;24;02;29
Instead of saying, Adrian, he's like uterus. Okay. Casey, what were you saying? Oh, don't mind me. Just. No. Yeah. We need to get back on track. Can you please. That's there? No, I know that we're not talking about. We kind of are skipping over where they meet in the woods, but, it's really, really disgusting and revolting and, hum.
01;24;03;01 - 01;24;25;26
Yeah. I wish that we weren't skipping it because I have an alternate title. Well, let's, let's, we'll get it here first. We're about to reinstate a monster reveal. Well, can I tell you the ultimate? That's the twist. Well, yeah. Yeah, well, this is it. We're going to make it official. This is whether we like it. Well, we're going to make it an honorable mention.
01;24;26;03 - 01;24;53;26
This is an honorable mention before Huntsman meets granny. This is when the Huntsman and Rosaleen meet and have a little, picnic, weirdness. But, Casey, what is the alternate title to the what I just gave it? Is that a remarkable object in your pocket? Are you just happy to see me, remark on it? Because he says I have a remarkable object in my pocket, and he pulls out a compass.
01;24;53;28 - 01;25;19;23
That's funny. And so gross and, But, yeah, he just, like, comes on super strong, so rapey, so racist. Yeah, like so gross. Yeah. It's just it was. Yeah. Really? Really not. Yeah. And he like, makes a bet with her. He says if you get to Granny's. Yeah. Before I do, you get my compass. Yep.
01;25;19;23 - 01;25;44;05
If I get to grab my purse, you give me a kiss. Yeah. And I was like, dude, I think that part of it that made it worse for me was like that. The girl who played it, she actually was 12. It wasn't like in a lot of movies. Winchester 3213. Yeah, yeah, a lot of movies. When somebody thing is, supposed to be younger, they're still like 19 or 20 years old.
01;25;44;05 - 01;26;07;16
Yeah. Been playing a 15 or 16 year old or something when things are gross. But but yeah, I think she and she did this. This was her first movie. She did one more movie, like a year or two later, and then that was it. Oh, yeah. She's great. She's so good in this. She is good. She is. I wonder what she's up to.
01;26;07;18 - 01;26;35;02
But there was a Rosalie. Where you be? Where you be? But spoiler alert, the Huntsman gets the ticket first, and then he hits the clit, her head off like a clay pot. Yeah, yeah. All right. Danny, what was it? What was that? What are old women, if not clay pots to break? No. Yeah. What about his long ass tongue?
01;26;35;05 - 01;27;00;06
Oh, yeah. That was funny. That was funny. Fuck. I love the effects in this movie so much. Oh, man. And I love it because it was clearly fake. Yeah, but I love that. You know what I mean? It was, you know, now making a long tongue to lick your fucking wounds on the side of your face. They could do with a computer, and they would look, you little bitch head, this little head fake.
01;27;00;14 - 01;27;22;23
But I love that. Like, these are my favorite types of effects. Yeah. We talking about, like, the vibe and stuff of these movies and like, just that where it's like, it's clearly in effect, but you don't care because it's so this cool. I don't know. Yeah, maybe it's the folksy ness, but there's also something that reminded me of when we did layer of The White Worm, something about effects, and that movie.
01;27;22;25 - 01;27;46;19
I just felt like, I mean, maybe it's just the era, maybe it's just a whole narrow thing in the technology. But, yeah, yeah, the clay, it's tough. Like, is she just. I don't want to be, like, cruel and be like, you know, I think what? Granny's. You know what it is. I know what it is. I know that it's not like.
01;27;46;21 - 01;28;01;23
That is like trying to work it out in me in case you're like, got it? Why? No no no no, I don't I don't I want to know what you're saying, Danny. And I want to know what you're saying. Casey. So, Danny, continue. Well, I was just going to say, like, it's not like what she's saying is, like, not valid.
01;28;01;23 - 01;28;22;29
It's just her perspective. Because I was going to say something that like, she's like just an empty vessel and and that's so not fair. But she is. Well, that was going to be my thing was because like, she's just hateful. Well, you know, she talked you talk earlier about how she's always stayed on the path and she's never strayed from the path.
01;28;22;29 - 01;28;43;26
And she didn't, you know, she she's like she hasn't learned to live. She's only telling other people's stories. Yeah. That she's heard. And so yeah, she is like empty because there's nothing in there. And so she just to what's spiteful and upset and sad, she's also all dried up. Cameo is oh she tried to play and was great.
01;28;43;28 - 01;29;12;23
Right. But a pop. Yeah. What's the album from Creed? Something about Clay. And wasn't Creed like a Christian rock band? Whole lot. I feel like there's something because there could be like a symbolism. I doubt it has any. With Creed, it's totally. Let's just play human clay. And what is she but human clay? And it's like we're being, like, formed into these, like, different versions of ourselves.
01;29;12;23 - 01;29;31;23
And she just ends up becoming this, like. Like she is not malleable. She is quite literally like, shatter a bowl. So maybe there's some maybe it's too much being read into, but like, I'm going to stick with that. And I'm also quite surprised, even if someone's listening to me like, this is one of the dumbest conversations I've ever heard in my life.
01;29;31;25 - 01;29;50;01
I we've had demoed of the fair. Yeah, we've had one. Oh, I'm proud of the fact that we got somewhere. I think that so I think there's value in that. We've gone somewhere with every step of this movie. We really like it. And I came into it saying it was just weird. Gross. Yeah, we we're good, we're good.
01;29;50;01 - 01;30;09;18
And I think again, we were joking that this is the movie that's going to kick off 2026 in a, it kind of like it's funny how what that symbolizes. It's just chaos. But actually, I would argue it's the opposite. It's us over. It's wading through the chaos, being malleable, not like granny, but being the human we are just like crew.
01;30;09;19 - 01;30;38;20
Yeah, we are like the creed of horror movie podcasts. Thank you. Stand up. We owe you. Thank you. Scott. But yeah. No, I'm proud of us. And we. I feel like we are going to course through this year. Not like granny, but like Rosalee. Yeah. So, yeah, I feel empowered. Thanks, Neil. Jordan. Okay, so yeah, he kills the granny and then he doesn't like, you know, in the story he hides inside granny.
01;30;38;20 - 01;30;54;17
But this he doesn't he doesn't because she's. This is not there. She shattered. Well he if he hides inside granny if he hides granny, it pretends to be granny. He doesn't get his kiss from Rosalee. It's true. So I can next. Probably be easier to get a kiss from Greg. Oh yeah. Because they do kiss on the lips earlier.
01;30;54;20 - 01;31;13;19
If he was fucking granny because, actually, I earlier. Fuck. I don't remember what she was saying. I didn't write it down, but I wrote. Can you imagine if grandma was grandpa saying some of the things that she did because she says, like she says, like, don't I deserve a kiss for that story? Yes. That's exactly what it was.
01;31;13;26 - 01;31;37;21
I just don't I was like, so yeah, that's interesting because that's after we were talking about how that one story really talks about, like the entitlement of men, but maybe it's just the entitlement of people in positions of power and granny does. Okay, position of power and trust. And then she's the one who, like also priests, are meant to represent power and trust.
01;31;37;21 - 01;32;01;08
And granny would be the first one to tell you, like, fuck them. It. There's so much contradiction in this, which I love granny, because it just makes it interesting. Rice, eggs go so go murder granny. Go go go have sex. You doesn't go abroad, Bryce. She can let. She's dreaming. You know, you either cut your nails.
01;32;01;11 - 01;32;30;05
Yeah, she's got to get wet. Then my read on this was about hypocrisy, denial and repression. And I think we have more or less proven that. Yeah, yeah. I mean, we're getting to our sixth reveal. This is like the big one, right? Yeah. Rosaleen meets the werewolf version of the Huntsman. And we she gets it. Is this one we see the or have we seen the transformation already?
01;32;30;07 - 01;32;52;28
This is the only thing we've seen with granny. Well with granny is the, the time. And then, and then she swings the fucking fire poker Adam. And he grabs it and he's got like a big brute, a big, you know, his hand is all fucked up, but that's it. And so now that Rosaleen is there, he starts to like, kind of be extra creepy.
01;32;53;01 - 01;33;17;14
And she's like, where's grandma? And, you know, he's out. She or he says she's out getting firewood and rolling like a fucking real man. Wouldn't let granny go out and get firewood in the fucking winter storm. Oh, that's funny that she challenges his, like, quote unquote manhood. Like she puts all the expectations that we've just kind of broke down and distills it down to that one thing of like, you're not a real man.
01;33;17;17 - 01;33;33;06
You didn't do the thing. You told me that a real man is supposed to do this, and yet you're the one not doing it. So fucking like you just proved my point. Like. And then he goes, and then he says, go look for yourself. She goes over to the window and when she turns around, she's got a fucking gun.
01;33;33;08 - 01;33;56;27
That's good for her. Like fucking granny was strapped to the fucking rifle. That was his gun. Oh it was his gun. The Huntsman. Yeah. The incense gun. The crane strap and she fucking. It's a good thing he was called the Huntsman. Imagine if he was called the Huntsman Wolf. And then she would know. Oh, you're not you're.
01;33;56;27 - 01;34;22;29
Oh, wait a second. Hunt's all. But she shoots him and he starts convulsing. And this is where, if this is played by Jean-Claude Van Damme, would have been a great like. I was picturing Bloodsport at the end when he gets the stuff in his eyes and he can't see and he's like, look, this Huntsman, he really fucking played into this, this transformation.
01;34;23;01 - 01;34;41;27
And this is the fucking wolf comes out of his throat. Fucking cool. It's pretty cool. His back splits open, the wolf comes out. Yeah. If you're listening to this and you haven't seen the movie, you're just listening. Watch them. I mean, the movie's great, but, like, if you just are wanting to see where of transformations, this movie has some of the best.
01;34;41;29 - 01;35;00;11
Yeah, yeah. They're good. I mean, pretty good. Yeah. And it's not a no, no, no one's ever fucking seen this movie. Yeah, I know I was here because while I will, I'll hear about people mentioning it, but I never yet met someone who. Like. That's why I've never heard anybody say anything about this movie before. Yeah. Wow.
01;35;00;12 - 01;35;29;08
Yeah. And it has some super cool Transformers. Yeah. I hope more people. Yeah, well let's see, I didn't know. I, I didn't, I failed to look this up, but who did the effects? Yeah, I want more people. On the effects. Let's see. What if there's no one? What if it's, like, based on real things?
01;35;29;11 - 01;36;00;06
Real people, special effects, makeup. Christopher Tucker, he did she Wolf of London. That shot, which was, which was a 1990 to 1991 TV series, The Man Loves His Wolves. He did High Spirits, which I think was also directed by Neil Jordan. Let's see what else. Dune says he was an artist, but he was uncredited in for Dune.
01;36;00;08 - 01;36;25;01
That was the next movie he worked on after this one? No, our second David Lynch, reference in this episode. Oh, he did The Elephant Man. He did the Elephant Man. Yeah. So this guy is, something special, and he was uncredited as a effects makeup effects crew artist for the cantina sequence in Star Wars A new Hope.
01;36;25;03 - 01;36;48;11
Oh, but he was. He was uncredited for that. Yeah, they were originally going to be in this movie, and then they were, like, benefited werewolves instead. They did too, because that is like, oh, well, there's hell in terms of like, shitty men and like what men represent. Oh yeah, it's the cantina bar. And, most easily is, the most.
01;36;48;14 - 01;37;11;18
Well, what does he fucking say? The most, despicable move something of of the Red Herman. And when the band are called, the genre of music that is that they're playing that. Ten 1010 1010 Denton. It's called jizz.
01;37;11;20 - 01;37;44;17
I swear, I kind this up, and it's called music. It's called jizz. It's like, I guess hip jazz. Yeah. And if ever there is something to symbolize, like, quote unquote masculinity or men, it's just jizz. So. Yeah. So I was listening to that music, the cantina music, when she fell asleep. All right. I was like, all right, fucking tissues in a room.
01;37;44;20 - 01;37;51;28
Oh, no. Those are from Granny's dream powers. But you.
01;37;52;00 - 01;38;15;23
You you. That's the new. As soon I start calling semen. From now on, it's hip jazz and see if anyone gets it. Oh, I'm gonna hit jazz. Hip jazz. And do you guys say I'm going to get dance? Yeah, I always say I'm committing. I'm going to see,
01;38;15;25 - 01;38;26;06
Yeah. Even that, it's like, what it's using, isn't.
01;38;26;08 - 01;38;48;26
Oh, guys, the title of this movie that come up for me. Nice. The company of just singles the little guys. All right, well, she is time. Is it time? It is time for the how I Met Your Monster conspiracy theory of the week. Hit it.
01;38;48;29 - 01;39;18;26
In Star Wars, A new Hope, we go to the MOS Eisley bar. We actually meet a character that looks kind of like a werewolf. Yeah, but that is like this movie, a subversion. The band that is playing the music is, cat. That's the alien equivalent of a werewolf. So those are actually werewolves in the bar playing the music.
01;39;18;29 - 01;39;46;18
Okay, but like, in that universe. Yeah. It's like, oh. It's. Oh. And did okay, you know. Yeah. And then when in Silver Ball, it's like in Silver Bullet when they're in the church scene and they all turn into werewolves and the one is playing the organ. It's his cousin. Yes, he's playing jazz, which he learned as a alien in the cantina band.
01;39;46;20 - 01;40;15;02
Yes. Duh. Guys, we haven't done these in a while, and I'm glad we saved our best for a little rusty. Bro. You guys remember how you connected these? I go, it's because the special effects guy worked on both movies. Let's just just say, you know where this came from. Oh. That's right. Yep. Christopher Tucker got congratulated in this episode, and that's this.
01;40;15;07 - 01;40;31;28
This is, what is it called? Conspiracy theory? The week is dedicated to Chris Tucker. Yeah, but Chris Tucker,
01;40;32;01 - 01;40;52;13
Again, we're gonna have a picture of social media post about Scott stuff. And then what about Chris Tucker? This episode is dedicated to Chris Tucker. You know, just to bring it back home. Poor Christopher Tucker, died in 2022. So not to bring us down, but to bring us back to Earth. Well, we're honoring him.
01;40;52;13 - 01;41;15;05
And honestly, not going back. Super talented actor. Rosalie's dream. That's true, that's true. Guys, not really means running off. So we pump in some more, and then we'll know where we got. My fingers are shrinking. That must mean them waking up. So now I'm pooping.
01;41;15;08 - 01;41;35;05
Come on, guys, let's take some more sleep. Drugs? Are we dream warriors or what? You guys, we have to wake up because this is our last reveal. This is number seven. This is when Rosaleen wakes up and the wolves are attacking her room. Which is why. Because she still has to deal with all that. Even though she's.
01;41;35;05 - 01;41;53;28
Yeah. The. Exactly. The dream is over. But Cassie's coming in. Nailing it? Yeah. Coming in through that window. Just like the wolves. Yeah, yeah. Shatter into that window and she's screaming and it's so cute. One of the wolves just clearly like they couldn't get it to, like, run through. So it kind of just pushes through the glass. Yeah.
01;41;54;05 - 01;42;17;07
Oh you just do you do you. But, and I mean guys that's it. Company of wolves. It's a very straightforward moving as we mentioned earlier I just want to very quickly there's a quote that the priest says when he, when Rosalie tells a story about the wolf girl. Why don't we mentioned the tears and he says, are you God's work or the devil's?
01;42;17;07 - 01;42;49;28
And I thought that was a really good way to distill like the meaning of this movie is like even they there's no answer. It's like, are you good? Are you bad? It's like, no, it's just bro. It's it's all of it, man. Like we're all everything's all right, man. Yeah, man. Yeah. That's all. That's all. You know. And it kind of like her story that she tells where it's like the, the, the she wolf that's coming up from the I think they say from like the underground, but it's like from a well it's also quote unquote going off the path.
01;42;50;01 - 01;43;12;02
Yeah. Because they're like goes into the town where it shouldn't be, I guess. And it gets attacked, gets shot by someone. So that's all I had to say about that. But that's all I have to say about that. Zach. What I'm surprised you can say anything about were the paintings, the matte paintings. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Like when she's looking out the window and you see, like, didn't notice there were a few of them.
01;43;12;04 - 01;43;29;08
Well, I kept seeing, like, it almost seemed like they used, like, the same shot. A lot of, like, the little town behind some trees. Yeah. Yeah, there was, there was the background in every shot. It's the only one that you saw it. You just always are, like, bring back matte paintings. No. Absolutely not. Say anything about them.
01;43;29;08 - 01;43;53;15
And I am all for that. I'm all for that anyway. Now, now they're like, they're like doing it, but they're just like, they're fucking filming it, you know, like The Mandalorian filming it on just like a screen background. That's like a 12 K, high res moving that painting. Yeah. That's fine. But yeah. The guys, that's it.
01;43;53;15 - 01;44;21;24
That's the company of wolves. I'm glad I finally saw it. Danny's waking up regular sized fingers. Casey's pooped her pants and, twice. Maybe your dream was just being with us all along was the company of podcasters. Oh, man. And you wake up to find that your dream came true. Because we're still here with you. We are werewolves to you.
01;44;21;27 - 01;44;43;02
No. Wow. Danny, I didn't say it. You said it. I know, but I believe that, Okay, well, let's wrap this up with our favorite reveals. Because now it's time to pick our favorite reveal. In the company of wolves.
01;44;43;04 - 01;45;05;14
All right, so let's see. Seven reveals in the company of wolves. We're going to do a speed round recap with some alternate titles. Here we go. Number one the big dogs and the wolves. And just like the whole opening dream sequence, also known as Whoa, talk about Star Wars. I didn't even fucking, you know, obviously didn't know about this when I wrote this.
01;45;05;16 - 01;45;18;06
Also known as a long time ago in a fairy tale land just west of the Chucky Cheese.
01;45;18;08 - 01;45;51;06
This. I'm sorry. The second one is, the husband returns as though as a werewolf, also known as keep Your Skin on. It's not that serious. I guess. Number three, the, the kid, the priest, the bastard priests. They're the bastard kid of the. What do you how. Whatever you'd say that the pastor pastor's son of one who's a bastard and divines also known as no pain, no gain.
01;45;51;08 - 01;46;04;12
Thank you for the help on that one, Danny. Number four, the dinner party transformations, also known as. Do these dogs know how to party or what?
01;46;04;14 - 01;46;14;13
Number five, the huntsman meets granny, also known as even a giant ass tongue. Couldn't make granny wet.
01;46;14;15 - 01;46;43;01
When did you come up with that? It's okay. That's awful. It was. I would have big tongue. You have, but I switch to, Number six. Rosaleen meets the Huntsman as a werewolf, also known as if you puke up a wolf. I'm leaving. No. And number seven. Rosaleen wakes up to the wolves in the present day, also known as.
01;46;43;03 - 01;46;49;10
You either reinforce your windows or you stop that kind of dreaming.
01;46;49;13 - 01;47;13;29
All right. What do you, Casey, let's start with you. What's your favorite reveal in the company of wolves? Keep your skin on subtle tears. Okay? Yeah. I feel like it's the obvious choice for me. It's a good one. Yeah. Yeah. You were talking about the muscles. Yeah. Looks good. I wasn't expecting it.
01;47;14;02 - 01;47;29;18
Yeah. Good stuff. Okay. Yeah I I like I love the hand when you like peels off and then like the hand like melts away and it's just like you know and that might be a nostalgia thing for me looking at the back of the box, but like the fingers are all skinny and gross. Yeah. It's like so.
01;47;29;19 - 01;47;50;14
So, Danny, is that what your fingers look like? Yeah. So I strip the skin off first and it reveals that. Yeah. If you want them to get, like, the key of your face and you want, Danny, what do you got? What's your face? I have the same one. It's not that serious. It's just skin. And you keep your skin on.
01;47;50;14 - 01;48;13;13
It's not that serious, you know, like, keep your pants on. That's right. Yeah. Same thing that. I'm just repeating what Casey said. I also think that there is, you know, after doing our Terrifier three episode, which has a very similar scene, this is the this is the version that I can stomach. Sure. Not so much lingering.
01;48;13;13 - 01;48;38;22
The effects aren't. They're still ground. They're not as grounded in reality. So I can appreciate the effects rather than being grossed out by. Yeah. Yeah. Just genuinely shocking. I didn't know I only knew this movie from the the the thing coming out of the mouth. Yeah. And the the wolves sitting down for dinner in their Victorian, garb.
01;48;38;25 - 01;49;04;28
So this was a very pleasant surprise. And also, it's, the, the actor who I'm trying. Oh, Steven Ray. Thank you. I just like him to do it. And he was there with. And, the crane game couple years later, the crying game. Yeah, yeah. And I think he was, if I'm not mistaken. It's been years and years since I've seen interview with the vampire.
01;49;04;28 - 01;49;23;00
With the vampire. And I think he's in that, too. Is he just. Oh, yeah. He's like the silly vampire who seems silly at first when he meets them. And he's like, walking up the walls and he's kind of, you know, quirky. I think he's evil. I haven't seen it. Well, maybe we'll do that this year. Yeah. Just to answer that question.
01;49;23;02 - 01;49;44;08
Yeah. And, you know, Casey, you were talking about the muscles on like, how they did it, but like, also the the wolf's mouth comes out fully in space and it's got the muscles on that too, which is pretty cool. Yeah. That's very cool. I'm going to go with, if you pick up a wolf, I'm leaving as soon Rosaleen meets the werewolf huntsmen because, you know it is.
01;49;44;08 - 01;50;05;06
The poster is like, I like the this back splits open, I love this. Yeah, it's just that, the thought of if, you know, you know what you're talking about, that. That's shocking. Yeah. You know, in our last episode with Terrifier, you know, you were talking about the, like, putting the pipe in her mouth, like at the end.
01;50;05;06 - 01;50;24;15
Yeah, which is gross. It's kind of that same thing for me, but it's like the other way around. It's like reverse. You're kind of like his face. So, like, stretch open for the thing to force its way out. And it's just like, oh, God. Reverse wrap. Like reverse wrap, like, you know, so, yeah, those are all there's some really cool reveals in this movie.
01;50;24;18 - 01;50;39;28
A runner up for me would be The Dinner Party because I. Yeah. So just like, odd and strange and I loved it. It was, All right, well, now it's time for a segment that we like to call the real monster.
01;50;40;00 - 01;50;59;14
I have, the woman who. Now I feel after our conversation, I feel bad talking smack, but, manhandling those babies in that scene, and she's, like, wringing them by the neck and throwing them around. Yeah. Jesus, they're not in SAG yet. They're not actors. They don't understand. So you can't just, like, get. They don't have, right?
01;50;59;16 - 01;51;22;00
Yeah. Yeah. I also had to have everyone calling Rosalie a pest. I feel like maybe that's more. It's just her sister called her a pest, and then she brought it into her dream. But they're saying in this one, they're saying in the fairytales, they're saying, pet, the sister in real life was or in, you know, modern time was calling her a pest.
01;51;22;03 - 01;51;30;14
And so I think she changed it to pet to make herself feel better. Dream. Yeah. I'm not a pet. I'm just a little pet.
01;51;30;16 - 01;52;04;19
Yeah. One thing is, like, just in general mob mentality. And then kid I mentioned screams about wolves, and everyone just starts fighting. Yeah, I know, there's just so, like, oh, my God. And I feel like that alone. Like, their mentality represents, like what the core theme of this movie is of people like just refusing to step out of, like, just take a breath, you know, like open yourself up to stray off the path, listen to people when they talk, you know, look at the nuances, find the, you know, the the subtleties.
01;52;04;21 - 01;52;26;20
Right. And what else do I have? Oh, this is our second movie in a row with the fucking driest cookies. So just like, I love a snappy. I love a snappy cookie just like you. I don't, however, like a dry, chalky cookie, and that's what. Okay, they're eating in this, so, Yeah, if you like those.
01;52;26;22 - 01;52;42;05
Fuck you. Just kidding. Yeah. Dry dry ass cookies. Dry cookies? Yeah. So pussy.
01;52;42;07 - 01;52;53;15
So let me talk. Duck wop and duck, duck, duck and whack, whack duck to eat a cookie and get a wet ass pussy.
01;52;53;18 - 01;53;14;15
All right, Casey, what do you got for real, monster? I also have her sister for calling her pissed because, like, look out, dude, you're a kid. What are you so upset about? Yeah, I don't know. And then I have Rogan. The Rogan kids, fucking mess up his.
01;53;14;17 - 01;53;38;19
Okay. Pretty simple. I mean, the Huntsman is obviously I didn't like him. Get the Larry Talbot vibes. I don't know what this, nasty man, Larry Talbot I hate. Yeah, the feds, Larry Sanders, but, yeah. Yeah. I've got the head. There's a little hedgehog that is drinking the piss out of the pot. So that dude, she's like, oh, he's not too shy to piss in the pot.
01;53;38;19 - 01;53;44;03
And there's a little hedgehog sitting on there. Matthew Shadid drinking.
01;53;44;06 - 01;54;11;12
Oh, Sonic's a freak. It's. There's one thing Sonic loves. It's a golden shower. Yeah, forget the golden. What do you think? Those rings. Ripper. Yeah. That's all this rings. So grab you're. And then when you're like, you're hurting. So when he hurts himself and they all just explode out of his. Yeah, he's saying it's not.
01;54;11;15 - 01;54;35;05
I've got the, the fancy lady at the Victorian party, like with her turkey leg. Oh, her turkey leg lover. She's so funny. Yeah. And then, more of a real one. I've got, the filmmakers for having the pack of dogs run over a fucking peacock. Oh, yeah. Did you guys know it's the Victorian party?
01;54;35;07 - 01;54;53;10
Yeah. They're like, oh, running out and like a, you know, like a pack of dogs. They're like headed somewhere, and there's a fucking peacock walking through the yard, and they fucking run over it, and you see the peacock, like, get up and be like, what the fuck is? But, oh, how am I right? Kind of mean.
01;54;53;13 - 01;55;15;25
Yeah, yeah, I can run it over. Cox. And it's symbolism, the whole. Well, running over the cox. What now? It's time for our last segment. Would you survive the Company of Wolves?
01;55;15;27 - 01;55;34;02
I'd argue, we're surviving them every day. That's what I was going to say. Yeah, I survived them. The spa. Yeah. And there is a line in this movie where they say, like, they're more scared of us than we are of them. And maybe that was maybe what that was in that interview that I was watching with, with the director.
01;55;34;02 - 01;55;54;22
But. Well, I mean, there's something to be said about, like, just because something is what you view to be a monster doesn't mean it is a monster. Certainly. Right. It's just what we are taught. It's like, yeah, I saw this video is like, is on Instagram. It has a bunch of like, babies sitting around a bunch of snakes.
01;55;54;22 - 01;56;11;04
And obviously I think the snakes are like, maybe I don't know if they're defanged or anything, but it was a study to show, like look like they're not afraid of the snake. So the snakes aren't going to feel like they need to attack. And I'm sure they're just watching. Like, I feel like that's a really says a lot about, like, what this movie was trying to say.
01;56;11;06 - 01;56;42;00
Yeah, because I know scared. Yeah, we know what the snakes can do. Yeah. And so we freak out. Yeah, yeah. Ignorance is bliss. Dang, damn. That's a whole other movie. Stop teaching your kids. That's our message. Yep. So we're going to kick out 2026. Just stop. Okay, well, guys, that's the Company of wolves. That's our first movie in our Scary Tales triple feature.
01;56;42;02 - 01;57;06;12
Casey, what's coming up next? We're doing Return to Us. Terrifying. And no, not wicked for good. Where they also return to us. Danny loves that joke. They never left. It's not. It's not over. It's coming back. Oh. They never. But we're returning to us. Oh, you returned to Oz? I thought you return. No, I thought you were.
01;57;06;13 - 01;57;32;12
Oh. I'm returning. You're returning? Oh, I thought okay. Yeah. Okay. The return. The return to Oz. Returned to Oz. How do you say that girl's name? Persia. Bulk. Perugia. Bulk. Yeah. Fucking scary. Not to be confused with Veruca Salt. That's true. Do you know what the room is? No. She's a blueberry. No. Yes, yes, there's a fucking.
01;57;32;14 - 01;58;02;22
That's Violet, Violet's true name. That's Violet. Violet's turning. Veruca wants the golden eggs, right? It's a goose. Yeah, she's the trunk of the Willy Wonka. Casey, what's the Veruca? Oh. Bought. Oh, really? She's a walk. Yeah. No. That's disgusting. Daddy's over here licking warts. Yum yum yum yum yum yum yum.
01;58;02;24 - 01;58;20;09
Your nose has a ball in it. Okay, so I'm excited to watch, to watch that it's been thoroughly closing the book on. I've watched it a couple of years ago, opening the book at another. And this is unprecedented. You guys.
01;58;20;11 - 01;58;38;05
Yeah. So make sure to return to, Whoa. Oh. Meet us on the yellow brick Road. Yeah. Return to pod. Return to pod, Casey, return to pod. As we return to Oz, And.
